Bright Young Gems Highly Commended Award

My work, the Thick Chain, was awarded a Highly Commended Award in the Responsible Sustainable Eco Thinking Heroes category of Bright Young Gems by judges, Hilary Alexander OBE, Imogen Belfield, Melanie Grant, Katerina Perez and Susi Smither.

Bronze Two Pence Coins, Silver Solder and Silver Wire

 This chain, part of Courtney’s collection Hidden Value, explores how value influences the perception of jewellery. She has used the overlooked, unwanted Two Pence bronze coin; with the aim to give value back to the undervalued coin using silver solder. With sustainability in mind, Courtney hopes that this piece shows that even undesirable unwanted items can be reused in sustainable ways and given new purpose.
